Greek Pastitsio


- Pasta  - Butter, flour, milk, eggs and parmesan - Olive oil - Onion and garlic - Ground beef and lamb - Tomato paste and spices - Diced tomatoes -

For the bechamel sauce: Cook flour in butter for a few minutes. Add in milk and cook until thickens.

Turn the heat off. Add in the eggs and parmesan cheese.

Sauté onion and garlic. Add in tomato paste, ground beef and lamb. You can use either lamb or beef.

Add in the spices, canned tomatoes and water. Let it cook for 30 minutes.

Mix the cooked pasta with olive oil, eggs, parmesan and parsley. Transfer to a baking pan.

Top the pasta with the meat sauce and then top with the bechamel sauce. Sprinkle with parmesan and bake in the oven.

The top will be all golden and crispy. Let it cool for a few minutes and slice.
