Easy Turkish Lentil Soup

Saute the onion

Saute onion in some olive oil until golden. Add the tomato paste.


Add the carrot

Saute and then add the carrots.


Add the lentils

Add the lentils and stir well.


Add the spices

Add in the spices including cumin, black pepper and Aleppo pepper (optional).


Add water

Add 6 cups of water and stir to combine.


Bring to a simmer

Bring to a simmer and cook until the lentils are tender.


Blend if desired and then top with parsley.

This soup was outside of my normal food comfort zone but I am so glad I tried it! So creamy and delicious and I loved the spices!
