Revani  Turkish Semolina Cake

What is Revani?

Revani is a classic Turkish semolina cake that's soaked in syrup once it's out of the oven. This cake is tender, moist and very delicious. 


Make the simply syrup and let it cool completely. In a large bowl beat the eggs with the sugar until light and fluffy. 

Add in the vegetable oil, yogurt and vanilla extract and mix to combine. Stir in the semolina, all purpose flour, baking powder and salt.

Pour the batter into a 9x13 pan and bake for 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.  

Let the cake cool for 5 minutes then slice it into 12 pieces. 

Pour the syrup over the cake and let it sit at room temperature for 1 to 2 hours. 

Serve the cake as is or with freshly brewed tea.
