Ingredients

  • 6 granny smith apples sliced

Caramel Sauce:

  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoon all purpose flour
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tablespoon butter
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

Topping:

  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoon butter
  • ¾ cup plain Greek yogurt

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375 F.

Caramel Sauce:

  • Put all the ingredients of the caramel sauce in a pot over medium heat.
  • Stir until the sauce is well combined and starts bubbling.
  • Let the sauce cook for 3 minutes after it starts bubbling.

Topping:

  • Mix all the ingredients in a bowl with a spoon until the dough comes together. It will be somehow sticky. That's how it should be.

Caramel Apple Cobbler:

  • Pour half of the caramel sauce in a baking dish. (Ceramic or Pyrex will work)
  • Place the apple slices on the caramel.
  • Pour the rest of the sauce.
  • Using a spoon, cover the apples with the topping.
  • Bake in the oven for 40 minutes or until the topping is brown at some spots and the sauce is bubbly.

Notes

  • You can use any kind of apples for this apple cobbler recipe. I prefer honey crisp and granny smith.
  • You can serve apple cobbler warm or at room temperature.
  • Keep the leftovers in an airtight container and refrigerate for up to three days.
  • For the topping you can also use store bought refrigerated biscuits.
