How To Start A Food Blog

So, you've been seeing me around here for about a year. It means I've been blogging for almost a year!
It took me over 4 years to start, because I did't know how to start a food blog. I was always like:"Oh, but it's going to be so difficult to set up a website!"

    WRONG.

Don't be like me. This whole thing takes less than 20 minutes to get through, and after that, you have your very own food blog!

How to start a food blog

Basically there are three steps you need to take:

1- Choose the Domain Name and Hosting
    2- Wordpress
    3- Themes and Plugins

    Seriously, it's that easy.

    Let's Start with Step 1:
If you have been thinking about having a food blog, you might already have some names in your mind. When I wanted to start mine, I made a list of the words I wanted to have on my domain name. I wanted it to be:
Easy To Remember and Easy To Spell
Try to have a couple of names ready and then head to Bluehost.

First, you have to choose your plan. I suggest to go with the Basic plan. You will pay once and save a lot.

When you select your plan, you need to sign up for your domain. This is where you enter the name you like for your blog and check if it's available.

Next you enter your account information which is as simple as every other form out there.
Then comes Package Information and this is my suggestion:

Then comes your billing information, setting a password and logging into your Bluehost cpanel (control panel).
    Voila! Step 1 is done!

    Step 2:
Now that you are done with Bluehost registration, you need to set up Wordpress. Wordpress is the environment you use to blog. It's like a software.
To install Wordpress, you have to login to Bluehost and then select Install Wordpress

Once you are done with the installation, you should click on "View Credentials" and write down the information including the URL, username and password. Make sure you save this information somewhere safe.

Then enter the Admin URL in the address bar and you will see a box like the one below. Enter your username and password.

    Voila! Step 2 is done!

    Step 3:

This is totally your game. Start with choosing a theme. You can start with a free Wordpress theme and later switch to a fancier one. The possibilities are endless! You will also need some basic plugins like a recipe plugin and social media sharing plugin. You can download all of those on Wordpress.

Now it's your time to enter the food blogging world! Welcome aboard, colleague!
