Ingredients

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.

Whole Baked Apples

  • Using a paring knife, cut around the stem and remove it. Then using a small spoon, scoop out the insides. Be careful to avoid damaging the apple and make sure the bottom is intact.
  • Mix the olive oil, honey, oats, cinnamon, salt, raisins and walnuts in a bowl. Using a small spoon, stuff the apples with this filling.
  • Place the apples in an oven-safe dish and add 3/4 cup of water. Bake for 45to 55 minutes. The apples are ready if you can insert a knife easily into them. They should still keep their shape and not be mushy.

Sliced Baked Apples

  • Peel and slice the apples. Place them in an 8x8 baking dish.
  • Add the olive oil, honey, oats, cinnamon, salt, raisins and walnuts to the apples and combine well using a spoon.
  • Bake for 35 to 45 minutes until the apples are tender.
