fresh coffee served with homemade coffee syrup

Enjoy a tasty afternoon treat with this fall with homemade coffee syrup. You can make the simple and easy syrup in different flavors and enjoy it with your coffee! Nothing beats a cup of freshly brewed coffee in the afternoon, especially during fall. Spending your afternoon “me moment” cozied up in a soft sweater with a cup of flavorful coffee with notes of fall flavors is the best way to welcome the crisp days that are about to come. We use Starbucks® Fall Blend Medium Roast Ground Coffee for the cool season, which we get at our local Safeway store. Check out this Just For U page for a coupon offer!

Fall always comes with so much to do and enjoy. From the cozy clothing and blankets to easy afternoons with family and friends, this is a joyful season. While fall can be busy, it’s always a great idea to take some time for yourself during this season and have a “me moment” when you can just sit down, unplug and relax with your cup of fall coffee and maybe a good book. These moments will help you recharge and carry on with your day.

Like the many colors of fall, this full-bodied blend brings warmth to the season by combining some of the finest coffees from all three coffee-growing regions. The beans from Sumatra lend the autumn touch of fresh spice notes, while the coffee from Africa adds bright notes of citrus and the Latin American beans offer balance with a delicate hint of toasted nuts. Together, they make a deliciously hearty cup of coffee that is impossible to resist. And, you can enhance the flavors by adding some homemade coffee syrup to your freshly brewed coffee.

Homemade coffee syrup

Making coffee syrup at home is very easy and once you try it, you won’t go back to store-bought. All you need to make a delicious coffee syrup is sugar, water, and your favorite flavoring. Two of our favorite syrup flavors for fall are:

  • Brown sugar cinnamon syrup
  • Vanilla syrup

Both of these homemade syrups have perfect flavors for fall and complement our Starbucks Fall Blend coffee very well (you can also enjoy this homemade syrup with Starbucks® Pike Place® Roast Coffee which I always like to keep on hand). It’s so simple to make these syrups at home, and you can enjoy them with hot or iced coffee!

How to store coffee syrup

The best way to keep and store your coffee syrup is to first let it cool completely at room temperature and then transfer it into a sealed container and refrigerate it. Since your homemade coffee syrup does not contain any preservatives or additives, it’s best to keep it in the fridge.

A cup of coffee that’s packed with fall flavors is perfect for a morning or afternoon boost, and I bet you will enjoy these syrups as much as we do! I love having my coffee with some tasty oatmeal chocolate chip cookies.

You can get all the ingredients, including Starbucks Fall Blend coffee (also available in K-Cup® pods!), at your local Safeway or Albertsons store. Make sure to check out your Safeway app for more information.
