Even though tailgating might be very different this year, we all still need some tasty food to go with the game! Make a delicious dipping sauce for chicken wings (or three!) with just a few ingredients to up your snacking game!
A fun spread for gameday!
When it comes to gameday food, I like it quick, easy, delicious and most importantly, convenient. My favorite things to serve are chicken wings, some kind of salad (I love potato salad!), fruit, and of course, freshly baked cookies.
Safeway makes it easy to create fresh, delicious and convenient meals for gameday. I got BBQ chicken wings, spicy wings and roasted wings at the hot deli case plus some homestyle potato salad from the cold deli case, fresh cut fruit bowls from the produce section and some freshly baked chocolate chip cookies from the bakery. These items made such a fun and convenient spread and we loved it!
However you are planning on watching sporting events this year, Safeway has got you covered with their made in-store chicken wings, freshly-prepared deli salads, bakery treats, and Fresh Cut fruit bowls.
I got all these delicious products at my local Safeway. You can also find them at the Albertsons Companies family of stores, including Albertsons, ACME Markets, Jewel-Osco, Vons, Randalls, Shaw’s Supermarket, Star Market, and Tom Thumb. They always have everything I need. Safeway also offers Grocery Delivery and Drive Up & Go™ for convenient ways to shop, and I love using it.
Dipping sauce for chicken wings (3 ways!)
To add more flavor and fun to the spread, I made three very easy, yet very delicious dipping sauces to go with the wings. Here is a small breakdown on what goes into each dipping sauce:
- Cilantro lemon sauce: herby and bright thanks to the lemon, this sauce is so good with wings! To make this sauce, you need cilantro, yogurt, olive oil, lemon juice and garlic. The add a new layer of flavor to the wings and make them even tastier.
- Garlic parmesan sauce: so creamy and packed with the flavors of parmesan and garlic. This dipping sauce calls for mayonnaise, sour cream, garlic, grated parmesan, parsley and vinegar.
- Smoked paprika aioli: you can make aioli from scratch and add some quality smoked paprika to it. Or, take a shortcut and make it with mayonnaise, yogurt, garlic, lime and smoked paprika. Both are so good for dipping wings!
Can I make these sauces ahead of time?
Yes! You can make these a day ahead and store them in airtight containers. When ready to serve, stir them well with a spoon and transfer them to dipping bowls to serve with the wings.
Alternatives
To make these dipping sauces for chicken wings vegan or dairy free, simply use vegan mayonnaise and dairy free sour cream and yogurt. Make sure they are plain and not flavored.
