Fall days call for gathering and indoor parties. A fall afternoon party is a great way to gather your favorite people in one place and spend some quality time.
Fall is all about holidays and parties right? It could be any kind of party, and today, at Unicorns in the Kitchen we are having a fall afternoon party!
Now that we have our own place, I’m so looking forward to invite people over for small gatherings. I like to keep my gathering simple and classy most of the time, and afternoons are one of my favorite times to have people over – especially in the fall when the weather starts to get colder and everything pumpkin starts to appear everywhere!
In Boston, I like to do my party shopping at Stop&Shop because they have everything I need in one store. They have all these Limited Time Originals that are pumpkin flavored and so fun! I got these delicious Pumpkin Cookies with Cheesecake Filling that paired very well with tea.
You should definitely check them out because if you are into Halloween parties and gatherings, they have so many fun things you can use! Oh, and here is a link for a $5 off coupon that you can put toward planning your own celebration (registration required).
To have a calm and nice fall afternoon party, you should first think about the decoration. I decided to go with a fall-themed table runner, some decorative pumpkins and candles. A simple bowl of apples also makes your table look inviting.
For food, again I went as simple as possible: One drink, two sweets and one savory food. Here I made some parfaits with homemade granola. This granola is so easy to make, but of course you can use store bought granola if that is what you prefer.
I also made super simple sandwiches: whole wheat bread, creamy feta cheese and walnuts. Very easy, yet very delicious.
We also had some tea because, hey, what’s better than an aromatic cup of tea on a breezy fall afternoon?
And I served the tea with the pumpkin cookies. They tasted so good together!
And that’s it. A fall afternoon party can be so easy to set up. If you just know what you would like to have and where to get what you need, you don’t need to stress yourself out. Just go simple and easy. Happy fall!
