Watermelon Rose Slushie is great for summer. Juicy and sweet watermelon blended with rose water makes this a delicious natural drink for hot days!
My love for watermelon doesn't fit into words - it's more than that.
Watermelon isn't only one of my "favorite fruits". It's the key to summer, it's what summer means to me. It's everything I want from summer, alongside some cool and nice Persian Cold Yogurt Soup - Abdoogh Khiar, of course. And this watermelon rose slushie is how I celebrate my summer every day. With the sun, the warm weather and this slushie, I'm a happy girl!
To make this watermelon slushie, I just use watermelon and ice with a splash of rose water. You don't want to use too much rose water because it will overpower the watermelon flavor. I also don't add any sugar as watermelon is already very sweet. They call it "nature's candy for a reason".
I always like to serve this watermelon rose slushie right after making it because it's all cool and icy. If you let the ice melt into the drink then it'll be too watery and not sweet anymore.
If the watermelon you're using is not sweet enough, I suggest you use honey, maple syrup, agave syrup or simple syrup. Plain white sugar might end up making the slushie grainy and that's why I don't recommend it.
This watermelon rose slushie would also be great for a summer party! Everyone needs a super cold drink in their hand while waiting for the barbecue, and there's nothing like this summer slushie to cool down your guests and bring a smile to their faces!
