If you love milkshakes, make sure to check out all our milkshake recipes, take a look at our tutorial on how to make a milkshake and find your favorite! Our most popular milkshake recipes include peanut butter chocolate milkshake, banana milkshake and our super-refreshing mango milkshake. This Oreo milkshake recipe is an absolute favorite as well!

Most of you grew up with Oreos, right? Well I didn’t. They were not common in my country and I didn’t get to taste them until I moved to the United States. But, when I first tasted Oreos, I instantly understood why people are so obsessed with them. It’s never too late for a thick, creamy and frothy Oreo milkshake, right?

Ingredients

You need only three ingredients to make this delicious oreo milkshake recipe:

  • Ice cream: Good old vanilla ice cream would work perfect!
  • Milk: Whole milk will help the milkshake stay creamy and thick.
  • Oreos: You can use regular, thins or double-stuffed. And if you’re feeling adventurous, you can make homemade oreos!

The perfect ratio depends on you. I usually use one cup of ice cream, 1/3 cup milk and 3 Oreos for each person. This ratio results in a very thick milkshake that’s hard to say no to!

cookies and cream milkshake - This milkshake is better than the one made at chik-fil-a and is full of oreos!

Instructions

For best results, place the ice cream and milk in the blender and blend for 10-20 seconds until it’s creamy.

Next, add in crushed cookies and blend just to have everything incorporated. Once you pour the milkshake into glasses, top with whipped cream and some more Oreos and voila, milkshake perfection in your very own hands!

As this cookies and cream milkshake contains pieces of Oreos, I suggest you use king size straws so the cookie chunks won’t get stuck in the straw. It may sound like a small deal, but it’s a total mood-ruiner!

If you ever want to treat yourself or your family to a delicious cookies and cream milkshake like the ones at Chick-fil-a (but better because they’re homemade!), then make this recipe. Kids love this milkshake and so do adults. I mean, is there really anyone out there who doesn’t like a milkshake like this?

I don’t think so!

With some oreos, ice cream and milk you can have the most delicious oreo milkshake!

Frequently asked questions

Can I make this dairy-free?

Why yes! You can use dairy free ice cream and milk (such as almond milk). Surprisingly, Oreos are already dairy free (and egg free!) so you’r all good to go!

What other ice cream flavors would work with this recipe?

Vanilla is a classic that would go well with the other ingredients. Using cookies and cream ice cream would be awesome! A combination of vanilla and chocolate would work as well.

How can I keep the milkshake thick for longer?

Place the glasses in the freezer for 10 minutes before serving. Keeping the glasses cool will help the milkshake stay thick for longer!

This oreo milkshake Recipe is a keeper. It's perfect for summer!

  1. Omg, this is probably the best milkshake I’ve ever MAD and that’s saying a lot, I can’t cook or be in the kitchen and come out with something delicious but it would’ve been hard to mess up the recipe because of how easy it is and how quick it would be;) absolutely loved!!
