This Easy Spicy Shrimp Marinara Linguine will be on your table in less than 45 minutes and it tastes amazing! With the right amount of spiciness, this pasta will become everyone's favorite!

Pasta is so easy and quick to bring together and feed the family. What I love about pasta is that you can make it a billion different ways and flavors, like this lazy lasagna, one pan chicken parmesan pasta, Creamy Shrimp Pasta Salad.

This Easy Spicy Shrimp Marinara Linguine will be on your table in less than 45 minutes and it tastes amazing! With the right amount of spiciness, this pasta will become everyone's favorite!

Why is this recipe a winner?

We love this shrimp pasta because it's packed with amazing flavors thanks to the homemade marinara sauce spiced with thyme, garlic, basil leaves and of course, parmesan cheese. The shrimp in marinara sauce makes this pasta so tasty and gives it a nice kick, a good change from the usual ground beef.

This spicy shrimp pasta is perfect for a quick weeknight dinner. It's so easy to put it together and you'll have a restaurant quality pasta dish in no time. I love the combination of shrimp and pasta as it is both elegant and simple.

This Easy Spicy Shrimp Marinara Linguine will be on your table in less than 45 minutes and it tastes amazing! With the right amount of spiciness, this pasta will become everyone's favorite!

How to make shrimp marinara pasta

Prepare the linguine according to the packaging and set it aside. Start making the homemade shrimp sauce by sauteing garlic in some olive oil. Add in chopped tomatoes, canned tomatoes, salt, thyme, basil, red pepper flakes and brown sugar. Cook for a few minutes and then blend using an immersion blender or a regular blender. Return the marinara to the pan and simmer for another 5-10 minutes.

Add in the raw shrimp into the sauce and cook for about 2-3 minutes until they're pink. Add in the pasta and mix well. Serve immediately.

I always garnish pasta with some freshly chopped parsley or basil. Fresh herbs bring a nice earthiness to the dish and make it taste even better. This easy spicy shrimp and linguine is a great dish to enjoy pasta in a new and tasty way, especially because the marinara is homemade and it has the right amount of spiciness. A little bit of heat is always nice!

What goes with marinara shrimp pasta

This spicy pasta goes perfectly with a simple salad such as Mediterranean salad, Greek salad or cucumber tomato avocado salad. You can also simply serve this shrimp and pasta with some crusty bread.

Notes and tips to make shrimp marinara pasta recipe

    • Toss the cooked pasta in some olive oil to prevent it from sticking together.
    • This marinara shrimp pasta is best served fresh. Store the leftovers in an airtight glass container for up to two days.
    • If you like your pasta dish to be spicier, use ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper.
    • You can use store bought marinara sauce for this shrimp linguine recipe. Simply bring the marinara to simmer and cook the shrimp in it. Toss the pasta in marinara and shrimp and serve.
    • Make sure you have raw shrimp and not cooked shrimp. It's best if they are peeled.

Even though this easy spicy shrimp linguine is simple to make, it's still very elegant and can be served for gatherings of family and friends. Everyone loves some delicious shrimp pasta with homemade marinara sauce!

    Ingredients

    • 1 box Dreamfields Linguine
    • Marinara Sauce recipe below
    • 16 to 20 frozen cooked shrimp thawed
    • ⅓ cup chopped fresh parsley
    • ¼ cup chopped fresh thyme
    • 2 cloves garlic minced
    • ½ to 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
    • Chopped fresh basil

    Marinara Sauce (see notes):

    • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
    • 2 cloves garlic minced
    • 1 large tomato chopped
    • 1 can 14.5 ounces diced tomatoes
    • ½ teaspoon salt optional
    • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
    • 1 teaspoon dried basil leaves
    • ½ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
    • ½ teaspoon brown sugar
    • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese

    Instructions

    • Prepare pasta according to package directions. Return to pan.
    • Meanwhile, for marinara sauce, in large saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add garlic; cook and stir 30 seconds. Add chopped tomato, diced tomatoes, salt, if desired, thyme, basil, ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes and brown sugar. Stir to combine. Increase heat; bring to boil. Reduce heat and simmer 5 minutes. Remove from heat. Blend sauce with immersion blender (or regular blender). Return sauce to saucepan; bring to simmer. Add Parmesan cheese; simmer 5 minutes.
    • Add thawed shrimp to sauce; heat through, about 2 minutes (do not overcook). Stir in parsley, thyme, garlic and red pepper flakes. Remove from heat. Toss with pasta. Serve immediately, sprinkled with chopped basil, as desired.

    Notes

For spicier sauce, add additional crushed red pepper flakes, as desired. If desired, two cups prepared marinara sauce can be substituted for the homemade sauce.
